Description of Work Unit
Position Summary
The Project Management Associates are responsible for organizing, leading and directing teams to support cGMP campaign activities, as well as to support BioMARC’s overall facility and business operations. Individuals will be working with internal teams as well as multi-institutional clients and external collaborators.
Candidates are expected to build, maintain, manage and utilize the basic infrastructure of a project work plan to manage and coordinate team tasks. Work plan infrastructure includes, but is not limited to, MS Project Schedules, MS Excel budgetary documents, MS Word reports, Visio flow charts and Power Point presentations. In addition, work related to pricing models and new project proposal development may be assigned with the expectation that the employee makes use of skills similar to those described above. Candidates must be able to understand the application of and work within an FDA compatible Quality System using Quality Assurance approved SOPs, protocols and/or similar controlled documents. Successful candidates must be able to perform as part of a team, and communicate clearly, understand multiple aspects of complex projects and recognize areas of project risk, and make professional judgements with regard to contract compliance.
The different position level(s) require escalating levels of experience in the understanding and application of project management concepts and experience in a contract development and manufacturing environment.
Required Job Qualifications
  • Required qualification, rank and salary determined by specific position to be filled.
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Level I is for individuals with a Bachelor’s degree in the Sciences, Medicine, Business, Liberal Arts or other, plus 1 year of professional project management experience; or a Master’s degree in the Sciences, Medicine, Business, Liberal Arts with no related experience; or PhD with no related experience.
    • Level II is for individuals with a Bachelor’s degree in the Sciences, Medicine, Business, Liberal Arts or other, plus 3 years of professional project management experience; or a Master’s degree in the Sciences, Medicine, Business, Liberal Arts with no related experience; or PhD with no related experience.
    • Level III is for individuals with a Bachelor’s degree in the Sciences, Medicine, Business, Liberal Arts or other, plus 5 years of professional project management experience; or a Master’s degree in the Sciences, Medicine, Business, Liberal Arts plus 2 years of related experience; or PhD with no related experience.
  • Successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by time of application.
Preferred Job Qualifications
  • Certification or Training specific to project management education.
  • Experience in a contract development and manufacturing organization.
  • Relative experience commensurate with the specific position to be filled in management/administrative support of biopharma activities.
  • Relative experience commensurate with the specific position to be filled with knowledge of pricing models and billing procedures.
  • Relative experience commensurate with the specific position to be filled in project management with completion of objectives on time and within budget parameters.
  • Practical knowledge of requirements, principles, and procedures related to working in a regulated environment.
  • Relative experience commensurate with the specific position to be filled in communicating and coordinating assignments that are inter-related and require technical and/or specialized knowledge to identify problems and recommend solutions.
