Summary
The Program Manager II is funded by a three-year grant awarded by the Coalition for Compassionate Schools (CCS) and the New Orleans Youth Alliance (NOYA). As part of the Coalition’s Core Trauma Informed Schools Implementation Team, this position advances the adoption, installation, implementation, and sustainability of equitable, healing-centered, and trauma-informed school-wide practices and support systems. The Program Manager II provides advanced program management to include management of program budget and financial reporting/projections, development, outreach, and program personnel. This position contributes to program’s strategic planning and goal management. This position owns the functions of the program.
The Program Manager II co-leads the team as they align, pilot, and evaluate a professional development cohort experience for K-8 staff and community partners. This position supports NOYA’s Department of Professional Development and Organizational Effectiveness by providing administrative, planning and marketing support for the New Orleans Youth Program Quality Initiative. The Program Manager II assesses and strengthens school administrators, enrichment planning committees, after-school program support staff, and instructors' approaches to coordinating quality care. This position prioritizes staff and student well-being and improves the school community's capacity for learning. 
The Program Manager II leads an annual TISP training as well as a role-based professional learning cohort where staff and youth program providers learn how to support themselves, their students, and other educators when working alongside school staff to create a safe and supportive learning environment for young people.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong ability to work with children and staff impacted by trauma.
• Competent in facilitating student activities or student service program management.
• Skilled with curriculum development, program development, and group facilitation with adult learners, including in-person and virtual formats.
• Familiarity with school-based systems as related to staff development, climate, and multi-tiered systems of mental and behavioral health supports.
• Familiarity with research-to-practice implementation and cross-systems consultation with different stakeholders.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and must have a demonstrated commitment to youth development and youth leadership.
• Must be a self-starter, work well collaboratively, have strong written and oral communication skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrate adaptability, self-awareness, social awareness, motivation, empathy, self-regulation and capacity to build strong and meaningful relationships with colleagues and partners.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and collaborate. Comfortable giving and receiving feedback.
• Capacity to create and maintain inclusive learning communities across a variety of stakeholders (educators, program/school leaders, parents/guardians, youth, etc.).
• A knowledge of how to provide academic, social-emotional and behavioral support for students and staff that have experienced trauma.
• Commitment to racial equity and social justice as well as an understanding of structural racism and its implications for health and academic disparities.
• A teaching and training background in youth development (e.g., out-of-school time programs), K-12 education, and adult education.
• Excellent writing and proofreading skills, with the ability to write concisely in a variety of voices across platforms in both long-form and short-form styles.
• High levels of creativity and the ability to develop content across a variety of platforms, youth-serving systems and for different audiences.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Slack, Asana, and Google Workspace applications.
• Facilitating community building methods (i.e., community circles, storytelling, etc.)
• Experience navigating the organizational and social infrastructure of school communities in the Greater New Orleans area.
• Interest in presenting work of the Coalition at various research, practice, and lay audience venues including conferences, radio, and other media outlets.
• Ability to work a flexible 40-hour week schedule including afternoons, evenings and occasional weekends. 
• Ability to travel between sites.
• Valid driver’s license required with an acceptable driving record.
Required Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree (in Psychology, Education, Social Work, Child Development, Behavioral Health, Student Services, or a related field) with 3 years of directly related work experience.
OR
• High School Diploma (or Equivalent) with 7 years of directly related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s Degree (in Psychology, Education, Social Work, Child Development, Behavioral Health, Student Services, or a related field) with 3 years of directly related work experience.
• Certification from reputable programs related to healing-centered and/or trauma-informed approaches in schools, Positive Youth Development, Youth Mental Health First Aid, etc.
• Language Proficiency in Spanish.
Compensation Information
This position is classified as "exempt, salaried" and is assigned to pay grade 25.
