Position Details
Job Summary | Eastern Washington University is seeking an experienced Program Coordinator for our School of Social Work in the College of Professional Programs. This position is responsible for coordinating operations related to our Spokane part-time Master of Social Work (MSW) Program based in Spokane. This position will be based in our Catalyst Building at 601 E. Riverside, Spokane, WA. This position supports other social work and allied programs within the School of Social Work as needed. Under the supervision of the Spokane Part-time MSW Program Director, the program coordinator will provide student services assistance, coordinate special projects, conduct training, and provide technical, administrative, and other programmatic assistance to social work students. Weekend hours will be required one weekend per month when students are attending class on campus. This is a great opportunity for an experienced program coordinator seeking to balance work/life demands, and who can plan around a variable work schedule. Scheduled work hours will vary from 20 to 35 hours per week, in accordance with the support needs for this position. Please note this position is eligible for benefits. The work schedule for the position may be viewed here: Planned work schedule (draft 2024-2025) After training and demonstration of mastery of position essential functions, the position will exercise independent judgment and discretion relating to students and interpreting and applying program policies, guidelines, contracts, and procedures. Position will independently advise students, staff and the public regarding the program and the University, and act as liaison to local organizations. Position will also provide needed assistance and/or information to the School of Social Work and the Social Work Field Education Office located in Cheney. In the course of performing the position’s duties, this position will have extensive involvement with students, staff and the public in carrying out program activities, and will coordinate, schedule and monitor program activities to determine consistency with program goals. The salary for this position is $37,233 (minimum) up to $41,874. Where the hired candidate will begin within this range is dependent on education, experience, and skills. Conditions of Employment | This is a part-time position budgeted at 87.5% time. During the course of university employment this position will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. The offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion and passing of a background check prior to beginning employment. All new employees will comply with EWU Immunization Policy 602-02 and provide proof of immunity or vaccination to MMR before beginning work at EWU. Work Schedule | Position is 87.5% time (equivalent to 35 hours per week). Additionally, the position will be scheduled to take unpaid cyclic time off for a total of 522 hours each year. This unpaid cyclic time off is scheduled in advance for an entire year beginning July 1st through June 30th, and is distributed throughout the year to coincide with weeks when the program needs less staff support. Days and times of work, including periods of cyclic time off, will be established at the time of hire to allow the Program Coordinator to plan around the work schedule. See the Planned Work Schedule Benefits continue uninterrupted during periods of unpaid cyclic time off. Approximately one weekend per month, the employee will be required to work both Saturday and Sunday. For these weeks, the position will take two consecutive days off during the prior five business days; Monday and Tuesdays will be the alternate days off. |
