The Department of Chemistry is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Scholar to work under the supervision of Prof. Bess Vlaisavljevich. This work is grant-supported and focuses on the electronic structure and computational spectroscopy studies of actinide complexes.


Responsibilities will include planning and performing electronic structure calculations; analyzing data; communicating results through presentations and publications; coordinating collaborative work; and contributing to the research group by working with graduate students as a mentor. The primary research focus will be on the electronic structure of actinide coordination complexes, including the performing calculations with multireference methods, fully relativistic methods, and high-level geometry optimizations.
