Position Summary:
Our research team has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral fellow to participate in an exciting project in biomedical modeling and diagnostics, funded by National Institutes of Health. The focus is on using concepts and techniques from statistical learning techniques, signal processing, machine learning, information theory and nonlinear dynamics.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The individual will be responsible for project execution and management. They will oversee data analysis, and present research findings in written reports and oral presentations to funding agency, project partners, and the scientific and broader community. They will also prepare manuscripts for submission to referred journals using existing and new data sets. The fellow will pursue additional research funding and write proposals. All candidates must be willing to work closely with center faculty as well as act as a mentor for undergraduate and graduate students. The candidate is expected to actively pursue high quality publications and participate in generating new ideas and writing technical proposals. They will work within the framework of VCADS, an interdisciplinary center in the College of Engineering with many fascinating projects that focus on applying advanced nonlinear theoretical, computational and experimental techniques to solve practical real-world problems in engineering and biomedicine.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • The candidate must have strong interest and motivation to perform cutting-edge research in this burgeoning interdisciplinary area.
  • The candidate should have a PhD degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Electrical Engineering, or other related fields specializing in the area of machine learning and dynamical modeling, excellent problem-solving skills as well as good oral and written communication skills, and must be willing to work closely and amicably with Dr. Nataraj’s team of postdoctoral researchers and PhD students.
