Postdoctoral Research Associate - Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine

Updated: 38 minutes ago
Location: Medical Lake, WASHINGTON
Job Type: FullTime

Position Summary
The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at WashU has an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow to explore mechanisms of how inflammation impacts matrix remodeling following infection-induced lung injury. The project investigates distinct host-pathogen interactions as the framework for understanding complications and persistence of severe infection-induced acute lung injury. The studies will involve probing host-protective mechanisms that counter pathogen-initiated lung inflammation and injury, specifically focusing upon the interplay between immune and non-immune cells in shaping the matrix following lung injury. The project will utilize a repertoire of relevant murine models of live bacterial and viral infection models as well as sterile lung injury models to study alveolar barrier function, tissue inflammation and matrix remodeling events. This post will provide the opportunity to acquire cutting-edge immunology, genomics, and single cell RNA-seq techniques and to develop an independent research focus.
