Summary
A postdoctoral position is available in Dr. Graham Erwin's laboratory in the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine. Our lab investigates the functional role of repetitive DNA sequences in human health and disease, with a focus on somatic variation between human tissues. We are seeking a talented and motivated postdoctoral fellow to lead bioinformatics projects analyzing genomic variation across different human tissues, including comparisons between blood and motile sperm, as well as potential applications in cancer genomics. The successful candidate will develop and apply cutting-edge computational methods to analyze large-scale genomic datasets, with a particular emphasis on identifying and characterizing tandem repeat (TR) variations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our understanding of tissue-specific genetic variation and its implications for human biology and disease.
