We are seeking an experienced Per Diem Medical Physicist to be responsible for all aspects of Medical Physics for Cedars-Sinai Radiation Oncology Affiliates in Tarzana, CA. You will provide clinical support, quality assurance, teaching, and technical proficiency, with the goal of improving the sophistication, efficiency, quality, and safety of radiation treatment, imaging and compliance. 

Summary of Essential Duties: 

  • Calibration, testing, commissioning and QA programs for all radiation therapy treatment, simulation, and imaging equipment, including linear accelerators, simulators, brachytherapy and imaging systems.
  • Performs, evaluates, designs, and oversees routine QA procedures for radiation oncology treatment, treatment planning, imaging, and dosimetry systems.
  • Provides technical assistance, consultation, development of improved techniques, and/or oversight of clinical treatment planning for patients undergoing radiation therapy. 
  • Consults with Physicists, Physicians, Dosimetrists, Radiation Therapists and Imaging Technologists to improve simulation, treatment planning, treatment, and other aspects of radiotherapy. 

Education:

  • Master's Degree in Medical Physics or a related field required

License/Certification:

  • Certification by the American Board of Radiology or Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine in Radiation Oncology Physics required

Experience:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience with Diagnostic Imaging Physics and Compliance Testing, Laser Safety, Radiation Safety and/or Health Physics required
