Mechanical Engineering Technology Faculty Position (F0021)

Brightpoint Community College is seeking a qualified candidate for a Mechanical Engineering nine-month full-time Faculty/Program Head position. Responsibilities will include teaching a full range of mechatronics and mechanical engineering courses in face-to-face, hybrid, and online (synchronous or asynchronous) formats. Full-time responsibilities include teaching the equivalent of 15 credit hours per semester (Fall and Spring). Teaching assignments will require the availability to teach day, evening, and online classes at either campus (Midlothian or Chester). The successful candidate will actively participate in course/program development, assessment, advising students, and serving on division and college committees.
In addition, this position requires Faculty/Program Head responsibilities which include managing the recruitment of adjunct faculty, aiding in the development of faculty, developing course schedules, and assisting with student recruitment. Faculty are also expected to work with local employers and government officials to ensure students obtain the skills needed to enter the workforce.
Candidate should be able to teach Mechanical Engineering Technology courses ranging from introductory to more advanced topics such as: mechanical maintenance, mechatronics, robotics, statics, dynamics, materials, machine design, pneumatics and hydraulics, motor controls, PLC programming, Industrial Instrumentation, automation, sensors, and manufacturing processes.

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
