Instructional Designer III

Join the University Center for Assessment, Teaching, and Technology (UCATT) as a Learning Designer, where you'll partner with instructors to enhance teaching excellence and student success. You'll provide consultations on course design and teaching and create tailored professional development experiences that transform teaching practices across campus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

What You'll Do

• Lead course design consultations that help instructors create engaging learning experiences
• Design and facilitate transformative workshops and programs on evidence-based teaching practices
• Create scalable professional development resources that impact teaching across campus
• Partner with instructors to develop effective learning activities and assessment strategies
• Support teaching enhancement across face-to-face, online, and hybrid modalities
• Contribute to university initiatives focused on educational innovation

• Deep understanding of pedagogical best practices and course design principles
• Excellent consultation and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to design engaging learning experiences for diverse audiences
• Strong project management and organizational capabilities

• Ability to prioritize competing tasks in a fast-paced environment
• An eagerness to learn and adapt to emerging educational practices

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

• Master's degree in education, instructional design, or related field
• Experience in a faculty development or teaching center environment
• Record of contribution to scholarship of teaching and learning
• Experience facilitating both online and in-person professional development
• Strong foundation in evidence-based teaching practices
• Background in educational technology integration
• Experience creating inclusive learning environments
• Demonstrated experience providing course design consultation and faculty support
• Track record of creating and delivering effective professional development programs
