The Instructional Designer Associate Consultant is an expert in learning and technology and supports the Office of Curriculum and Scholarship (OCS) by collaborating with College of Medicine (COM) faculty to promote educational strategies and innovations that increase learner engagement and improve learning outcomes. The core functions of the position include (1) consulting with faculty to develop and manage eLearning modules, guided learnings, textbooks, multimedia, and digital and print materials to support learning, scholarship, and proposals for funding; (2) collaborating with faculty to pilot new educational technologies and instructional approaches; (3) providing technical support and training for educational technologies; and (4) designing, implementing, and evaluating faculty development programs related to instruction and educational technology; (5) leading project development and implementation when needed and appropriate; (6) help coach and mentor instructional design team members in the Office of Curriculum and Scholarship.

Experience

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; Master's degree preferred. 6 years relevant experience in eLearning design and development required; demonstrated ability to translate traditional instructor-led classroom material to formats using electronic educational technologies required; experience with eLearning authoring software (e.g., Captivate, Articulate) required; experience in an academic medical center preferred. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
