IU Human Resources provides university-wide services through a wide variety of operational functions to retain and develop a diverse employee workforce. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. The HR Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting our HR function and positively impacting employees. Join us and be a part of a team that values collaboration, growth, and excellence.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Provides a wide range of high-level support to the Human Resources (HR) area. 
  • Acts as the liaison between the HR team, employees, departments, and external customers ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of all queries. 
  • May support any of the functional areas like Employee Relations, Benefits, Organizational Development, Talent Acquisition Operations. 
  • Performs a combination of routine and non-routine administrative HR work.
  • May perform some level of emerging exempt individual HR responsibilities.
  • Performs HR administrative functions.
  • Performs record-keeping, timekeeping, and payroll processing activities in support of the campus daily payroll operations.
  • Kuali timekeeping (update area/approval roles).
  • Processes hire documents for student, temporary and part-time employees.
  • Processes bi-weekly and temporary employee terminations.
  • Assists employees with Workman's Compensation and partner with University HR on FMLA.
  • Monitors Work Study arrangement including fund limits.
  • Plans and Assists with Yearly Events/Recognition/Years of Service.

General Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, processes, verifies, and maintains HR related work, which may include but not limited to: recruitment, training, benefits, employee relations, performance evaluations, classifications, I-9s and employee leaves of absences.
  • Researches and analyzes HR related topics to help assist in resolving issues and/or creating solutions.
  • Creates, compiles, prepares, and analyzes reports and documents for HR related activities.
  • Performs and may coordinate data entry for processing transactions and maintaining and keeping information current for candidates, employees and/or retirees on a variety of HR issues
  • Provides administrative and related support to other HR staff.
  • Supports and maintains HR programs and events; maintains up-to-date records of actions, decisions, and time frames.
  • Maintains high standards of confidentiality of all employee records and documents.

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.

 

EDUCATION

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

  • 3 years HR related experience plus advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite products

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

$45,000-$48,880 per year.
