Advertising/Posting Title Geospatial Technician - Mapping Team
Posting Summary
Manage, edit, manipulate, process, and display geospatial data in support of research projects. Assist in development of geospatial workflows. Assist in hiring and provide functional supervision to student and temporary mapping technicians including: Training, review of work of and constructive feedback. Operate Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and process UAS data into photographic, video, and geospatial projects.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Bachelor’s degree
- One year’s experience using GIS in a professional environment.
- Demonstrated experience training others in the use of ArcGIS and image interpretation.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of a variety of geospatial software packages.
- Knowledge of principles, practices, terminology, and trends in geospatial technology.
- Experience using vector, raster, and point cloud datasets.
- Expertise in manipulating geospatial datasets using heads-up digitizing techniques.
- FAA licensed Part 107 UAS operator or ability to obtain license by 4/1/2025.
- Driver’s license, or ability to obtain license by 4/1/2025.
- Experience operating fixed-wing and multi-rotor UAS platforms.
- Knowledge of photogrammetric image processing workflows.
Desirable Qualifications
Anticipated Pay Range $20.50 - $24.50 per hour

Special Conditions Bargaining unit position, A probationary period may be required, Travel to and from worksites required, This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position
