SCHEDULE:

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, with some overtime on nights or weekends as required.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This dual role position involves daily custodial services for the Belcher Center and event setup support for campus wide activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Custodial Services
  • Daily custodial services for the Belcher Center and other university spaces as needed.
  • Custodial tasks including, but not limited to, mopping, vacuuming, trash collecting, window cleaning, washroom/shower sanitizing, and carpet cleaning/extracting.
  • In performing these duties, a custodian uses both light, medium, and heavy equipment (such as extractor/floor buffer).
  • Proper usage of LeTourneau University supplied chemicals.
  • Minor maintenance and repairs of custodial equipment in partnership with facility services.
  • Proper usage of safety equipment supplied by LeTourneau University.

Event Setups:

  • Working with the university event services manager, conference and events services, and student workers to provide event setup support across campus for university events and outside rentals.
  • Maintain the inventory of items and ensure all equipment is functional, properly stored, and available as needed.
  • Duties include lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, grasping, scrubbing, bending, squatting, going up and down stairs, continuous standing and walking.
  • Attends weekly event service provider meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:

High school education or equivalent fund of knowledge. Must be age 18 or older. Good working knowledge of the English language. LeTourneau University seeks a person with an enthusiastic and maturing Christian faith who is committed to the development of a dynamic, growing Christian university where integration of faith and academic excellence is paramount.

Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in custodial services and experience with moving furniture and rearranging facility spaces is a plus.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
    Excellent verbal communication skills.
    Detail-oriented with a focus on providing exceptional service to clients and event participants.
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    Must be able to stand, walk, and perform event setups for extended periods of time.
    Other university duties as assigned

Work Environment:

  • An acceptance of and commitment to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
    This position may require occasional evening and weekend work depending on event schedules.
    The role will involve working both indoors and outdoors, and may require interaction with diverse groups of students, faculty, staff, and external clients.
