Position Summary
Responsible for directing, coordinating, and guiding all activities that support the animal facilities on the Danforth Campus and its employees. Ensures that all animals maintained in animal facilities are kept in a safe environment that meets standards as set forth by the university and regulatory agencies.


Job Description


Primary Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Directs and manages staff to ensure that animal facilities are maintained to meet the compliance requirements of all regulatory and accrediting agencies, including USDA, OLAW/NIH, NIH and AAALAC.
  • Provides leadership and planning for replacement of equipment, repairs animal housing facility infrastructure, and maintenance programs to keep the facilities in “AAALAC site visit-ready” condition at all times.
  • Performs billing operations; oversees inventory management and logistics.
  • Oversees facility and security access, ensures all required screening/training and security are administered and completed for faculty, staff and/or students.
  • May teach laboratory class as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range
$110,300.00 - $194,200.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
