Job Summary
This position cleans assigned buildings in a set period of time using proper methods and materials in cleaning and care for building areas and equipment. Participates in other areas of Physical Plant operations as directed. Aids supervisor with special events and projects.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or general education degree. Three years custodial or related experience. Driver's License required. Must be eligible to receive a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card upon employment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to read and understand instruction manuals and chemical labels.
- Ability to communicate with a diverse group of people.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to operate carpet extraction machines, automatic floor scrubbers, buffers and burnishers.
- Ability to perform hard floor care to include applying and removing stripper and applying multiple coats of floor wax.
- Ability to work nights and weekends when required.
- Ability to understand differences in cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to attend education and training programs as appropriate to increase awareness and understanding.
Preferred Qualifications
5 years custodial or related experience. Floor care equipment experience.
