Position Details:

Summary of Duties:

Under general supervision, perform custodial tasks/duties to maintain cleanliness and care of area assigned. Lead and/or supervise (i.e. instruct/train/assist) assigned Custodians to meet departmental cleaning standards. Assist Supervisor as needed. Position may interview and recommend selection of applicants, assign and schedule work, act upon leave requests, provide input on annual performance evaluations and recommend corrective or disciplinary action.   As a field-based trainer, this position will be responsible for training at initial assignment and reinforcing best practices, ensuring consistent cleaning standards across facilities, and providing targeted follow-up training when needed. 

Position will work Thursday - Monday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Additional Information:

This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary:

$3,558 to $4,299 | Range 37 (Steps E - M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 .
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 , the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • Physical ability to do required work and one year experience in housekeeping, janitorial, general or building maintenance, or custodial work OR one year experience as a Lead; OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 months experience leading or directing the work of others.

  • Experience with Housing and Dining Services.

  • One year of custodial experience in an educational or commercial setting.
