We provide public sector agencies, staff, service providers, clients and community partners training, research and consultant support for professional and programmatic development. We deliver cost-effective, customer-oriented solutions that are tailored to meet unique needs and situations.
The Case Initiation Coordinator serves as a resource on the FCASC Child Welfare Line and Foster Care and Adoption Inquiry Line providing inbound call support to the public needing services or information for the DHS Child Welfare and Foster Care and Adoption Programs.
This position develops, implements and facilitates a program for the recruitment of foster and adoptive families for children in state custody; serves as a liaison for pre-resource and resource families needing services or information; answers inquiry, administrative and training-related questions and performs follow-up; maintains multiple databases required for state and federal reporting and compliance standards; develops and maintains materials for recruitment and retention activities; maintains confidentiality; and implements all activities for the Foster Care and Adoption Support Center.
*This position will be located in Norman with a flexible hybrid option for experienced candidates after required training period. Equipment is provided.
Essential Functions:
- Answer calls in a fast paced environment and assist with helpful information
- Provides case management services via telephone, email, video and face-to-face interactions
- Maintains strict confidentiality standard
- Document and/or update information in systems or databases
- Complete searches for contact or other information
- Develops relationships with relevant agencies and service providers.
- Provides support of daily production activities as needed for the unit
- Performs specialized tasks and routine Quality Control checks.
- Assist in providing redirection to correct contact & general information to the public
- Provide assistance and education to potential foster and adoptive parents
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position
- Develops relationships with relevant agencies and service providers.
Job Requirements

Required Education: Bachelor's degree AND:
- 24 months professional experience in child support, social/government services, or office-based customer service.
Equivalency Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of related experience.
Skills:
- Ability to speak, read and write clear, concise English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Excellent customer service skills
- Composition and proofreading skills
- Must be able to perform basic data analysis
- Strong initiative to solve problems
- Ability to read and interpret legal documents
- Must be able to handle confidential material appropriately

Advertised Physical/Environmental Requirements:
- Must be able to reach, stand, and engage in repetitive motions
- Ability to lift objects under 50 lbs.
- Must be able to enter data into a complex database on a daily basis.
- Frequent exposure (50 to 60%) to physical and/or mental stress or discomfort caused by deadlines and busy periods.
- Long periods of sitting and/or standing.
Departmental Preferences:
- 12 months DHS Child Welfare experience.
- Knowledge of KIDS system. Inbound Call Experience.
