Minimum Position Qualifications
Bachelor degree in higher education, college student personnel, counseling, social sciences, humanities or relevant field. Two years of experience in higher education, university career services, human resources/corporate recruitment, business, public relations or a related field.

Work Schedule
Monday – Friday
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
May need to work beyond normal work schedule during peak times.

Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The Career Readiness Specialist activates and advances a career ecosystem at the University of Memphis by developing and implementing programs, systems, and initiatives designed to teach students the life-long continuous process of career and professional development. The Specialist serves as the point of contact for a specific area of expertise (Tiger Talent Community) and works collaboratively to empower students in their career journey.

Provide career advising and coaching to help students discover and prepare for career pathways, articulate their career-ready and transferable skills, and build a community that propels their career aspirations; Assist students with resumes, interviewing skills, professional development and job/internship search strategies; use career assessment resources and results as necessary.

Serve as a direct liaison to students, faculty, and staff and collaboratively cultivate relationships with key stakeholders to develop industry and employment specific events and workshops that facilitate student learning, skills/career competencies development, and networking opportunities for students; Serve as the primary career services liaison for administrators, faculty and staff in specific academic disciplines for the exchange of information and referrals for career opportunities for students.
