Work Schedule
8:00 am – 5:00 pm; Monday – Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours required, as necessary.
Primary Purpose of Position
Perform a range of a public communications and/or marketing related work that involves both internal and external communication efforts including market, material and project research; planning, developing and managing special events and fundraisers; and planning, designing and managing programs and projects. Work includes developing and delivering promotional and informational materials through a variety of communication media.
Minimum Education/Experience
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

University Preferred Qualifications:

Contributing: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in a closely related field that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities needed in the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Essential Job Duties
Coordinate media opportunities, press conferences, and interviews and actively promote content through internal outlets. Design, write, and produce record books, press releases, game programs, and other publications. Act as liaison with affiliated conferences and NCAA offices. Maintain website content and engage social media platforms. Nominate student-athletes for national, regional, and conference athletic and academic honors. Coordinate media operations for home events and assist with special events when necessary. Acts in compliance with institutional, conference, and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations and reports known NCAA violations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Sport Management or related field 
  • Communications experience with college or professional sports; knowledge and experience with social media platforms and content creation.
