Job Summary
The Honors College is seeking an Administrative Officer to perform a variety of administrative tasks that support daily operations in the Honors College under the guidance of the Administrative Manager.
Responsibilities
Primary duties will include:
  • Manage the opening and closing of Honors College office (Building 619 in Fort Douglas).
  • Answering and directing phones, visitors and student inquiries to the appropriate area within the Honors College.
  • Scheduling and oversight of calendars of all Honors College events, room usage for Kahlert Village and Marriott Housing (this does not include course scheduling).
  • Ordering and tracking catering for various events.
  • Provides support to Housing and Residential Education’s occupancy team during the Honors Housing application process by ensuring students are eligible to live in Honors housing.
  • Maintaining reports and appropriate filing systems on behalf of the Director of Finance.
  • Order and maintain office supplies.
  • Prepares ePR’ s and purchase orders, as needed.
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact for students, faculty, and campus wide community.
  • Assist in Honors College events as directed.
  • Available to work occasional evenings or weekends to support events, advance planning and notice will be provided.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Three years experience that includes specific involvement in maintaining complex financial records, developing and monitoring departmental budgets and preparing related reports; and demonstrated organizational, human relation and effective communication skills.
    Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
    Preferences
    Preference will be given to candidates that show effective work ethic and communication skills.
