An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Supervisor to join the team at Wolverhampton University. The role is a full-time position based on one of the campus’s across the estate. 

The purpose of the role is to offer first line supervision of a multi-disciplined skilled and unskilled workforce engaged in the repair and maintenance operation by organising their work, ensuring appropriate safety regulations are complied with and that a satisfactory standard of craftsmanship and level of output are maintained. 

You will be a qualified trade person to an advanced level from any Buildings/M&E related trade, with experience of the supervision of trade operatives, unskilled craft operatives and external contractors. You should also have a reasonable level of computer skills. You will work in collaboration with the University Maintenance Manager and other Technical Supervisors providing a fully encompassing service delivery plan for the university. You will have full responsibility for ensuring planned maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks are prioritised and carried out in accordance with the contract KPI’s and Health & Safety on their site and be responsible for an annual budget for undertaking the maintenance, ordering of materials, and managing specialist sub-contractors. 

You would be joining an existing team within the maintenance department.

Main working hours are 37 hours over 5 days 52 weeks a year, however as with the whole department a flexible approach is required.

A driving licence is essential, demonstrate excellent knowledge of best practice Health and Safety in the workplace.
