About the role
Are you passionate about Health and Safety? Join the University of Leicester as our Technical Health and Safety Officer for The College of Science and Engineering (CSE) and the College of Life Sciences (CLS). You'll play a key role in shaping the health, safety, and wellbeing of our diverse community. With 4,000 staff and over 20,000 students from 115 nationalities, we are a leading institution, recently awarded Daily Mail University of the Year and runner-up in the Times Higher Education awards.
In this role, you will oversee the development, implementation, and management of health and safety policies, practices, and systems across our Laboratories, workshops and research areas. You will also conduct H&S training auditing and provide advice to colleagues. Reporting to the Senior Health and Safety Business Partner, you will form part of the central team supporting both Colleges.
About you
We're looking for an effective communicator with significant experience in STEM subjects. You will be a NEBOSH General Certificate holder or actively working towards it and demonstrate a desire to study for the NEBOSH Diploma in occupational safety and health, and Chartered membership of IOSH within 5 years post appointment.
