Summer Operational Support Assistants - Accommodation & Conferencing

Over the summer period, the Residential & Commercial Services team will be welcoming a high number of conference guests to the University. These bookings will vary from International Summer School’s visiting Worcester to groups booking Conference Events using the University’s facilities. This increase in demand creates several opportunities for individuals who are looking to gain work experience, becoming part of an additional summer team which plays a key role in supporting the smooth running of the university and contributing to several areas of operational support. 

Main duties include:

  • Assist with the allocation of student and guest accommodation and conduct room inspections.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to accommodation management.
  • Support the cleaning and preparation of rooms as needed.
  • Welcome and assist conference delegates, ensuring a smooth and professional experience.
  • Prepare and maintain conference facilities before and during events.
  • Clean and organise meeting spaces as required. 

This role will require the post holders to be highly motivated and flexible when meeting the business needs across 7 days a week and have availability to work over the summer period between June and September 2025. This type of paid work is an ideal way for individuals to enhance their CV. Training and support is provided where appropriate. 

Evening and weekend work will be required, and some activities may require an appropriate level of physical fitness.

Background

The Residential & Commercial Services team covers a wide range of services within University of Worcester, including Accommodation, Conferencing & Commercial bookings and Catering. 

Applicants will generally be required to work on St. Johns or City Centre Campus but may be needed in other University locations as required.
