Bristol Dental School has moved to a city centre state of the art new site (1 Trinity Quay, Avon Street, Bristol) to deliver a new operating model and opened in Summer 2023.
Applications are invited for a flexible, hardworking, and reliable sterile services technician for the processing of all dental instruments for this 119-chair clinical facility. The post holders will be working within a small team, work closely with and taking direction from the sterile services supervisor and head of Dental Nursing and Decontamination. The decontamination unit will maintain the flow of dental instruments through the Dental School, the production of all goods received and dispatched to and from the clinical areas being a predominantly teaching environment for dental undergraduates and trainee dental nurses.
- Working with a team of technicians to fulfil objectives within the teaching environment
- Undertake safe and efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly and sterilisation of instruments, consumables, and equipment within the predefined quality assurance standards.
- Engage with all aspects of decontamination and the decontamination process to include trac and trace systems
- Working closely with the sterile service supervisor and Head of Dental Nursing and decontamination to achieve an efficient and fully functional sterile service department at Bristol Dental School
- Have previous experience as a sterile services technician or similar role within the sterile services field
- Positive attitude with good communication skills
- Committed in providing a high level of internal customer service
- Ability to work effectively and proactively as part of a sterile service team and within the wider dental teaching environment
- Part time – Thursday and Friday, 14 hours per week.
Contract type: Open Ended
Work pattern: Part time (Thursday and Friday)
Grade: D
Salary: £24,344 – £25,733 per annum (pro rata)
