Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS) is seeking a talented Senior Software Developer to join our small, dynamic development team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and developing a cutting-edge digital platform from the ground up, addressing the evolving needs of our staff, students, and executive education participants.
At CJBS, you will be part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to innovation in digital learning. We offer a collaborative and supportive work environment where your contributions will make a significant impact.
The role:
Design and implement system architecture and scalable solutions to ensure compatibility across all devices and operating systems.
Leverage your expertise in cross-platform development using .NET MAUI to deliver a seamless experience on mobile, desktop, and web platforms.
Collaborate with the team to create a robust digital platform that enhances teaching and learning experiences.
Engage in dynamic, project-based activities and work closely with other IT functions to plan, manage, and prioritise development tasks.
Attend project meetings regularly, provide accurate planning estimates, and report on progress.
Work closely with existing IT teams, the Director of Digital Learning, and the Director of IT for guidance and support.
The ideal candidate:
The ideal candidate should have full-stack development experience, with expertise in Agile methodologies. They should be skilled in integrating cloud services like Azure and enterprise platforms such as Dynamics 365. Proficiency in version control systems (Azure DevOps, Git) and CI/CD pipelines is essential. The candidate must have advanced knowledge of programming languages, including C#, JavaScript, SQL, and Blazor, along with strong problem-solving and debugging skills. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality assurance are crucial, as is the ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is required. Flexibility to work outside normal hours occasionally is also important.
Desirable skills include proficiency in .NET MAUI, experience with cloud authentication methods (SAML, OpenID, OAuth), and knowledge of RESTful APIs and data integration techniques. Familiarity with frameworks like React, Angular, Bootstrap, or Tailwind CSS is beneficial. Professional certifications in software development or cloud technologies, such as Microsoft Azure, are also desirable.
We anticipate that interviews will be held on w/c 05 May 2025 consisting of both a panel interview and a practical assessment. This role is initially offered on a two-year fixed-term basis.
The advertised salary range reflects the full progression within the grade. Your starting salary will be determined based on how your skills and experience align with the requirements of the role.
Applications are welcome from internal candidates who would like to apply for the role on the basis of a secondment from their current role in the University.
