About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a mid- to senior-level lawyer with substantial PQE experience in advising on property matters, and an interest in the Higher Education sector, to play an important role in the Legal and Regulatory Affairs team at one of the world’s leading universities.

The successful candidate will be the only dedicated property lawyer at Imperial and will be the primary point of contact for the Property and Sustainability teams, who require legal advice on matters including investment, development, planning, major projects, day-to-day estate and asset management, acquisitions and disposals.

The role involves working collaboratively with Imperial staff and stakeholders to deliver pragmatic, robust, solutions-focused advice that is based upon a sound assessment of legal and other risks and represents excellent value for money.

What you would be doing

You will be a part of Imperial College London’s Legal and Regulatory Affairs team which is a highly regarded function within Professional Services. You will contribute to supporting the achievement of the University’s objectives by delivering consistently excellent legal advice at pace across a broad range of activities relating to property and real estate.

What we are looking for

You will ideally have a proven track record of delivering advice in-house, or to external clients, within a complex organisation and be able to demonstrate effective decision-making and experience of working with multiple stakeholders. You will be able to analyse and evaluate data from multiple sources at pace. You should be able to demonstrate how you identify and assess risks and tailor your advice to mitigate such risks, being creative in your decisions to arrive at sound, pragmatic advice that supports the University’s objectives.
