The role

As part of Digital Transformation Services (DTS) at Sheffield Hallam University, you will be responsible for leading on aspects of digital delivery. The teams are made up of Consultant level staff, Application Service Managers, Senior Applications Analysts and Application Analysts and also third party consultants.

As a Senior Applications Analysts you will be in a technical service lead and will require strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.

The candidate will be someone with extensive experience, who is wanting to expand their knowledge in a wide-ranging dynamic and supportive environment to deliver an excellent service providing the bridge between Business requirements and technical roadmaps. Experience in an ITIL based service environment is desirable.

The Team

Data and Integration - The team is responsible for managing and optimising the university's data reporting systems and integration processes. The team is responsible for the University integration tool (Workato) and the management of the DataWarehouse and associated ETL processes.  

The department

Our Digital Technology Service has been configured not only to deliver excellent IT services, but also to drive major IT development and change. It is a large service focused on enabling, implementing and supporting a wide range of technology to meet the needs of the University Community.

This technology must be affordable, high quality, resilient and meet a broad range of needs.

DTS is made up of a Digital Architecture team and a large Digital Strategy area, which includes Digital Delivery (Applications; Cloud, Networks and Infrastructure), IT Support and Digital Change. The service is made up of over 120 FTE member of staff and is based across two centrally located buildings.

DTS works within a unified professional services model, ensuring that we can take a consistent and coherent approach to technology across the university. We work in partnership with other professional service areas such as Transformation, Student & Academic Services, and Estates & Facilities, and engage external expertise as necessary. 

You will be contractually enrolled into the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) – one of the largest and most generous defined benefit pension schemes in the country.
