Research Software Engineer

Research Software Engineer

to join the

Oxford Protein Informatics Group

 (OPIG). This exciting position is unique within the University and will provide an unrivalled and privileged opportunity to interact directly between a highly productive academic group and many pharmaceutical companies.  The project is pioneering an academic business model for how to achieve simultaneously the ideal of fully open software while sustaining a long-term funding stream.

The position is offered on a permanent basis and is full-time.

Applicants will have completed a relevant PhD/DPhil with post-qualification research experience. Relevant areas of research include computational chemistry, structural biology/bioinformatics, statistics, machine learning, computer science or mathematics. They will have a strong publication record and familiarity with the existing literature and research in computational chemistry or structural biology/bioinformatics, experience with coding in a wide variety of languages and platforms, Python in particular. They would also have Prior experience of collaboratively developing software tools in the areas of computational chemistry, structural biology/bioinformatics, statistics or machine learning.  More requirements will be found on the Job Description.
