About us
The Faculty of Natural, Mathematical & Engineering Sciences (NMES) comprises Chemistry, Engineering, Informatics, Mathematics, and Physics – all departments highly rated in research activities and a wide-ranging portfolio of education programmes. Recently re-founded, the Department of Engineering is rapidly expanding into a world-class research and teaching department. Research currently focuses on robotics, telecommunications and biomedical engineering, but we are looking to establish new research themes.
About the role
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position in the field of quantum privacy. We seek highly talented and motivated researchers to join the exciting quantum networks integration project within the platform driving the ultimate connectivity (TITAN) research hub funded by the EPSRC.
The successful candidate will work on advanced topics on quantum distributed computing and its application to communication-efficient private information retrieval. The successful candidate will have an extensive research foundation and expertise in quantum information science, quantum computing and coding.
The position will be based in the Department of Engineering, King’s College London on the Strand Campus in the heart of central London.
The position is full time and is offered on a fixed-term basis until the end of March 2026.

Key Responsibilities:
- Write technical papers closely related to quantum privacy and publish in referred international journals and conferences.
- Present research findings in regular project meetings and workshops within the TITAN and related research hubs.
- Collaborate with academic and industrial partners within the TITAN project.
- Fulfil the project objectives on quantum distributed function computing with application to quantum privacy.
