Research Associate

The Wolfson Centre for Young People’s Mental Health and Division of Psychological Medicine and Clinical Neurosciences at Cardiff University School of Medicine seek to appoint a Research Associate for 1 year to work on the final year of Work Stream 2 (using genetics to understand causes and stratify youth anxiety, depression) of the Wolfson Centre for Young People’s Mental Health. Based in Cardiff, and working as part of a friendly, well-supported research group, this post will be supervised by Professor Anita Thapar. The successful applicant will work jointly with colleagues across the Wolfson Centre and collaborative centres in the UK, Norway and Sweden analysing data sets. On occasion, this may require travel to the collaborative centres.
The post-holder will be required to have a strong publication record and possess skills in analysing large, longitudinal datasets. Previous experience and knowledge of developmental psychopathology/ mental health is required.

This post is full time (35 hours per week), available immediately and is fixed term for 12 months. 

Salary: £40,497 - £45,413 per annum (Grade 6). Appointments to roles at Cardiff University are usually made at bottom of scale unless in exceptional circumstances.

This post is based at the Hadyn Ellis Building, Cathays campus.
