Background

The Department of Radiography, School of Health and Medical Sciences, is seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our team, working on our project, “Radiographers’ and autistic individuals’ perceptions of autism and care in radiology: Listening, understanding, and planning for cultural and clinical practice changes in the UK”.  

This project aims to explore, map, and reflect on the experiences of autistic people within diagnostic imaging and radiotherapy setting, and gain insight into radiographers’ perspectives of caring for autistic individuals.

 


Responsibilities

You will work closely with the Principal Investigator to collect research data through a national online survey and by conducting individual interviews with research participants. You will analyse the data, and prepare the study findings for dissemination. This will include at least one journal article. You will also be supported to attend, and present the study findings at a national scientific conference.


Person Specification

You will hold a Master’s degree in a radiography-related discipline and have clinical experience as a senior radiography professional. You will have sound knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods and their application. Successful completion of The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism is essential.

Interviews are scheduled to take place on 14th May 2025.
