The Electors to the Regius Professorship of Divinity in the University of Cambridge invite applications for this flagship position from candidates whose research falls within the scope of Christian Theology. Preference will be given to those whose expertise is within the modern and contemporary periods (i.e. from ca. 1800). The successful candidate is expected to take up appointment on 1 October 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Candidates will have an outstanding research record and international stature in the field of Christian Theology, together with the vision, leadership experience, and enthusiasm to build on the current strengths of the Faculty of Divinity in order to foster and develop a world-leading research culture and environment. They will hold a PhD or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
Standard professorial duties include teaching and research, examining, supervision, and administration. The Professor will be based in Cambridge. A competitive salary will be offered.
