Job Purpose:

Ulster University has developed an international reputation as a leader in education and research in the creative industries. Ulster’s leadership of initiatives such as the £75m Studio Ulster project, the £13m Future Screens NI project and the £13m CoSTAR Screen Lab, has driven new course provision in virtual production, animation and games design, increased student numbers and has attracted significant funding to support research in creative technologies. The Ulster Screen Academy was established in 2020 to bring together the extensive range of screen-related course provision, research and consultancy across the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (AHSS). The successful candidate for the role of Professor of Creative Industries and Director of the Ulster Screen Academy will provide the vision and expertise required to take Ulster to the next level of success in education and research in the creative industries. The Professor/Director will work with Deans, Heads of School, Research Directors, Academic Staff and Professional Services at Ulster and with industry partners from across the creative sector, to maximise opportunities for new course provision, R&D, consultancy and skills development.
