We are seeking an experienced academic to lead the Health and Social Care undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at Bishop Grosseteste University (BGU). BGU is one of the oldest HEIs in the UK and is situated on a pleasant campus in uphill, historic Lincoln, and values community support, local regeneration, and engagement.
Health and Social Care is situated within the Education, Health, and Lifelong Learning portfolio, as part of the academic faculty. The Health and Social Care suite of programmes are well established and there are plans to grow the subject discipline further therefore we are seeking an academic with experience in programme and curriculum development. Working collaboratively with the Head of Programmes, this post will be responsible for managing a small team of colleagues, implementing strategic developments, ensuring the smooth and compliant delivery of courses, meeting student recruitment targets, assuming responsibility for the standards and quality of programme outcomes at BGU and at our partner colleges, delegating as necessary. The HSC programmes focus on service provision and seek to bridge the gap between theory and practice in an applied way. Placements and work-related learning are a key aspect of the programmes. The Programme Leader would need to contribute to teaching and learning, particularly in research modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Experience of course or programme leadership would be highly beneficial along with membership associated professional networks.
BGU offers a generous employee benefits package including:
• 35 days holiday for Grades 7+
• Plus 3 additional discretionary days annual leave over the Christmas period
• Various pension scheme options including a Teachers Pension scheme offering up to 23.68% Employer Contribution, and BG Flex (a private pension scheme managed by Aviva) offering a 10% employer contribution and the employee contributions are voluntary and flexible.
• Cycle to Work Scheme
• Electric Car Salary Sacrifice Scheme
• 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme including free online GP services and face to face counselling sessions
