The opportunity

University of the Arts London (UAL) is looking for an experienced project manager to support the implementation of our Modernisation and Service Improvement initiatives, within the People and Culture Department.

These initiatives form part of an ambitious project to enhance our work and efficiency through improvements to our HR systems, data, policies and processes. As People Projects Manager, you will play a pivotal role in planning, managing, and delivering these initiatives, alongside wider service improvement projects within our People and Culture department.

This will involve a range of responsibilities including -

  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements
  • Developing and implementing comprehensive project plans, by defining project scopes, goals and timelines
  • Monitoring and reporting on project progress
  • Leading and motivating project teams

This is an exciting opportunity to further your career in project management, whilst helping to enhance the work of a key university department.

About you

You will need proven experience in project management and methodologies, ideally within HR or with an internal focus.

Strong leadership, teamwork and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.

You will also need excellent IT skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (SharePoint, Power BI, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new systems quickly.

A strong understanding and knowledge of the latest trends and research in People practices, systems and technologies is also essential.

We operate a fair and open anonymous selection process. Thus, you will need to create an account and submit an application through our job board. As part of this, you will need to provide a supporting statement to demonstrate your suitability. Our recruitment process involves: Application, Shortlisting, Interviews Q&A and Onboarding.
We understand the benefits of using AI in work. But, if you are thinking of using it to submit an application, we ask you to think about what value it adds. AI tools tend to lack the personal touch and authenticity we value in candidates. We encourage you to showcase your unique knowledge and skills using your own voice.
If we receive a high volume of applications, the closing day date might close early. We aim to communicate any changes to the closing date with at least 24 hours' notice. If you have any general questions or have accessibility needs, please contact psostaffrecruitment@arts.ac.uk
