The opportunity

If you possess knowledge of digital technology and advanced digital skills, then London College of Fashion (LCF) has an exciting opportunity for you. We're looking for a Library Senior Digital Advisor to join us on a part time basis.

Digital resources are integrated within UAL Libraries to support a variety of learning styles, including activity-based and social learning in an innovative digital environment. As a member of the Library Services team, you will contribute to the development and delivery of high quality and customer-focused library services which supports the academic activities of the University and its constituent Colleges.

You will support learning, teaching and research activities through the efficient day-to-day running of digital services at your designated site. You will oversee customer services processes and respond to enquiries, providing excellent customer service and facilitating a welcoming and accessible environment.

In addition to this, you will oversee the maintenance and development of library services' equipment and digital platforms and will plan, design and deliver learning support in line with departmental strategy.

You will also contribute to the cross-site group responsible for developing digitally enhanced learning spaces, digital pedagogies and experimenting with cutting edge digital tools.

About you

We are looking for someone with a compassionate student-focused approach, who possesses a degree-level qualification and/or relevant digital skills, and experience in a library and open access IT environment (or equivalent).

With excellent leadership and teamwork skills, you will be capable of line managing staff, as well as working collaboratively with colleagues across departments.

You will demonstrate strong knowledge of developments in IT and educational technology, ideally in the context of Higher or Further Education. An understanding of the operations of libraries, open access IT, digital learning spaces and/or makerspace facilities is essential, along with knowledge of digital learning and library technologies.

You will also have experience of software packages and tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, and relevant assistive technologies and software.

We operate a fair and open anonymous selection process. Thus, you will need to create an account and submit an application through our job board. As part of this, you will need to answer some competency questions to demonstrate your suitability. Our recruitment process involves: Application, Shortlisting, Interview Panel Q&A, Onboarding.
We understand the benefits of using AI in work. But, if you are thinking of using it to submit an application, we ask you to think about what value it adds. AI tools tend to lack the personal touch and authenticity we value in candidates. We encourage you to showcase your unique knowledge and skills using your own voice.
If we receive a high volume of applications, the closing day date might close early. We aim to communicate any changes to the closing date with at least 24 hours' notice. If you have any general questions or have accessibility needs, please contact agstaffrecruitment@arts.ac.uk
