The opportunity
Our aim in Academic Support is to enable students to fulfil their potential as confident, independent learners. You will be a core member of the Academic Support Team within the College, liaising with colleagues in Programme and Course Teams and other College and University services. You will be responsible for developing and delivering high quality support tailored to the needs of individuals and groups, in a range of blended learning environments, across courses within the C or Culture and S or Systems School.
You will use inclusive practices to support student which recognise the diversity of the student population at CSM and will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the subject disciplines taught at CSM. You will be confident in addressing a range of students’ study requirements, for example: understanding academic vocabulary, reflective practices, understanding assignment briefs, critical approaches to reading and writing, research skills, planning and time management, speaking and presentation skills, working collaboratively, and evidencing learning outcomes.
You will be able to demonstrate up to date knowledge, expertise and experience in academic support and learning development, and be willing to contribute to scholarly activity, research and developing professional practice in this area.
About you
We are looking for someone who understands the unique challenges and opportunities of teaching in an art school context. You will be a graduate with a teaching qualification who has experience of teaching in further and/or higher education settings. Your experience will include evidence of inclusive pedagogic practice and blended learning. You will have excellent communication and problem solving skills and be committed to working in a team.
