This role is ringfenced for applicants under Redeployment only.

We are looking for someone to join our team to fulfil maternity cover until May 2026 on a secondment basis.  You will be responsible for building and enhancing the digital skills for all of our students and staff.

Are you passionate about:

  • Making the most of our technologies such as Microsoft 365, augmented reality and data analysis tools? Enjoy training and helping others to improve their skills?
  • Devising and implementing training materials in a wide range of media?
  • Rise to the challenge of reviewing new tools and how they can be adopted by the University

Digital and information skills are central to our courses, and all students will need to have confidence in them so they can fully participate in their studies.  We also empower University staff to deliver their teaching, research and administrative activities and build confidence and capability in all of our staff.

Alongside these skills, the Digital Services Team also support skills in professional media such as film and audio. and of course, resource discovery and information evaluation. All of these skills are fundamental to our students and staff digital capability.

You will be responsible for preparing and delivering resources and activities for a variety of different audiences.  You will be confident using a range of techniques, resources and media to support these activities, or you can demonstrate an aptitude for absorbing new skills and training others. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

We expect you to provide high quality in-person support and training sessions, on-line materials, self-assessment, peer-assisted learning, and simulation or augmented activities.

Core working hours will be 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, though some early evening and occasional weekend working is expected.
