The Role: The role holder is part of the team responsible for the operation of FM services on sites and in buildings managed by Facilities Management, supporting the work of the University.
This role will be part of the Logistics Services team and supporting University Departments and FM Services across the Estate. The role holder will, with others be required to transport heavy and or bulky items, which include office furniture/ equipment, IT equipment and other items. Whilst meeting the University's Sustainability vision for waste and recycling.
The role holder will assist with the smooth operations of Logistical services across the Estate between various buildings and departments ensuring items are transported by University Fleet vehicles, safely and efficiently.
As part of the team, you will also carry out property checks on University vacant properties ensuring security and safety of these buildings are maintained, as well as working alongside contractors and providing access to buildings for reactive and PPM maintenance.
Please be aware that a Full UK Driving Licence is essential for this role (a full EU Driving Licence is acceptable on appointment, but the successful applicant must transfer to a UK Licence prior to confirming a start date).
The role holder, alongside existing colleagues, will provide facilities services to buildings and tenants as part of the Facilities Management team. The work supports the academic community and contribute to the smooth running of the buildings and sites.
The role holder frequently works non-standard and unsocial hours; sometimes working without direct supervision across multiple buildings and sites.

- Experience is Logistics, removals or a related field.
- Clean and valid driving license.
- Collaborative working approach and mind set for all Logistical Tasks.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff and visitors at all levels.
- Ability and physical fitness to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks daily.
- Good time management, organisational and co-ordination skills.
- Basic D.I.Y skills
