About Us
At the University of East London (UEL), we are committed to empowering our students and graduates with the skills, connections, and opportunities they need to succeed. Our Careers and Student Enterprise (CaSE) Service is at the heart of this mission—an innovative and forward-thinking department that supports students in achieving academic success, preparing for the modern workforce, and launching their own businesses. With creativity and impact at its core, CaSE uses cutting-edge research and technology to drive student success and foster a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem.
About You
The Curriculum Development & Delivery Manager will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining a robust Careers First curriculum that meets the diverse needs of our student body and subject areas. As part of our leading Careers & Student Enterprise Team (CaSE), this role will drive the continuous development of digital Career Development Pathways within our flagship employability module, Mental Wealth and Professional Fitness, while ensuring alignment with the Annual Graduate Employability Action Plan. Building on existing work, the postholder will collaborate with the Quality Assurance Team and the Centre for Excellence in Learning & Teaching (CELT) to ensure that integrated employability assessments are rigorous, consistent, and aligned with institutional policies.
Serving as the principal liaison between CaSE and academic schools, they will ensure that in-curriculum and co-curricular programmes are complementary, impactful, and strategically aligned with the goal of enhancing students' career readiness. Working closely with CaSE Management and Academic Schools, they will develop operational processes to drive meaningful student engagement with Career Zone across all disciplines while overseeing the coordination and planning of a cross-service schedule in partnership with academic schools.
The postholder will lead the development of innovative pedagogical approaches to enhance careers content and delivery, acting as a subject matter expert by continuously developing their own practice and supporting teams within CaSE to do the same. They will also spearhead a cross-service peer review and quality assurance process, ensuring that careers education delivery is high-quality, impactful, and aligned with best practices.
Additionally, they will work closely with Senior Leadership to operationally lead an ambitious review of Mental Wealth and Professional Fitness, engaging in consultation with students, staff, and industry to develop a new Mental Wealth Framework. In collaboration with key stakeholders, they will contribute to shaping the development of a Careers First curriculum across the institution. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in career development within a higher education setting, a deep understanding of curriculum-integrated employability, and expertise in pedagogical best practices.
They must demonstrate strong leadership and project management skills, the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, and a proven ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and proactive leader to shape the future of employability education and ensure that students are fully prepared for their careers.
