Conferences and Events Sales Executive

Updated: about 5 hours ago
Location: Leeds, ENGLAND
Deadline: 11 May 2025

This role will be based on the University campus. We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

The University of Leeds Conferences & Events team sell, plan and deliver events; this includes venue hire, accommodation, catering, and conference management services.

The University operates a wide range of venues and facilities that attract events such as meetings, conferences (including residential), exhibitions, award ceremonies, receptions and dinners. The team’s income has grown significantly over the past year, and further growth is expected both on and off campus, including a new city centre venue which was launched in Spring 2023.

The Conference and Event Sales Executive supports proactive and reactive event sales activity, taking events from enquiry to contract, ensuring high conversion rates to ensure maximum commercial and reputational impact for the University. As the first point of contact for new and existing clients, customer service, time management, and a keen eye for detail are all vital for success in this post.

This post works closely with the Assistant Head of Conference and Events (Sales) to sell conference and event services, whilst effectively liaising with Conference & Events Operations, Catering & Hospitality and Residential colleagues to ensure a smooth transition of bookings where the provision of facilities and services are as agreed with the client.

Please note that due to Home Office visa requirements, this role is not suitable for first-time Skilled Worker visa applicants. Information on other visa options is available at: https://www.gov.uk/browse/visas-immigration/work-visas

What we offer in return
