College/Department Profile

The College of Nursing is the fifth college within Qatar University Health Sector (QU Health Sector). The college aims to be a leader in education, research, and service excellence, delivering innovative nursing programs that adhere to international standards. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teach didactic lectures, clinical courses, and labs as needed;
  • Provide clinical supervision;
  • Assess student assignments and grade student performance;
  • Mentor and advise students;
  • Develop curriculum and programs;
  • Participate in faculty governance including serving on Departmental, College, and/or University committees;
  • Maintain an ongoing record of scholarly productivity including publications in internationally recognized journals; and
  • Foster and participate in collaborative, interdisciplinary research teams in the College, QU Health Sector and across the University.

We need to fill three positions:

1 for psychiatric and mental health nursing specialty.
1 for community health nursing specialty.
1 for adult and critical care nursing specialty.

Qualifications

  • A Master in Nursing from a university ranked among the top 500 in the Times Higher Education rankings.
  • Specialty certification is preferred.
  • Active registered nurse license from home country or country of residency.
  • Eligibility for an educator license from Qatar's Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP), and to be obtained within six months of hiring.
  • A minimum of 3 years clinical experience as a registered nurse.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience teaching in an undergraduate nursing program.
  • Experience with competency-based curriculum.
  • Experience with next generation NCLEX-RN exam is preferred.
  • Evidence of clinical experience and or teaching experience in the area of specialty.
  • Evidence of research productivity in the area of specialization is preferred

Non-Academic:

  • Cover letter.
  • Current curriculum vitae.
  • Experience certificates.
  • Bio page of current passport.
  • Two recent recommendation letters.
  • List of at least three referees’ contact information (physical and email addresses as well their mobiles and telephones contact details) other than the two who completed the recommendation letters.
  • Active license from home country or country of residency.
  • Evidence of passing accredited certification exam.

  • Teaching, research, and service philosophy statement.
  • Competency-based education experience statement.
  • Copy of certificates and transcript of each earned degree/credential. The completed programs should be completed on-site only. However, if no course work was completed for the highest academic degree, a copy of certificate letter from the registrar of your highest credential granting institution regarding your highest academic degree.
  • Optional: Statement about experience with next generation NCLEX-RN exam.
  • Any additional documentation that you feel is relevant to your application.
