Assistant Professor – Medical Laboratory Sciences ( Al Ain) 

The College of Health Sciences (CoHS) at Abu Dhabi University (ADU) invites applications for new faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level in Medical Laboratory Sciences beginning August 2025. The successful candidate will be involved in teaching and developing undergraduate and graduate-level courses such as Clinical Biochemistry, Metabolic diseases, Medical Microbiology, Immunology, Haematology, Histopathology, and Systematic and cellular pathology. 

We seek applicants who are dedicated to excellence in research, teaching, and training the next generation of biomedical research scientists with expertise in Medical Laboratory Sciences.

The College of Health Sciences offers BSc. in Environmental Health and Safety, Public Health, Laboratory Medicine, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, and Molecular and Medical Genetics. There are opportunities for multidisciplinary inter-college collaborative research across ADU, and inter-institutional research collaborations in the Abu Dhabi area and U.A.E. 

The Position:

The applicant must have robust teaching and research experience and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Additional responsibilities include student advising, mentoring, curriculum development and assessment, department and committee service, and participation in student recruitment and placement. The teaching load typically includes up to 12 credit hours per academic semester on the Al Ain campus, which may vary depending on involvement in other academic activities. The faculty may be requested to teach in the Abu Dhabi campus as well based on the need.  

Acceptable Qualifications:

To be considered, applicants must hold a Ph.D. from an internationally accredited university, with relevant work experience. Evidence of conducting hands-on and field courses and mentoring students is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are a must. Applicants must have a record of peer-reviewed publications, as judged by their h-index (10 for Assistant Professor, 15 for Associate Professor, and 25 for Professor).

  • A copy of transcripts for the highest degree held and evidence of appointment to the current academic rank. Note that all job offers are contingent upon attestation of the highest degree.
