We are now seeking up to two postdoctoral researchers in information coding at the Department of Electrical Engineering.


Work assignments 

The postdoctoral position centers on developing innovative algorithms and conducting advanced research in the field of digital image/video forensics. The work will specifically leverage state-of-the-art deep learning techniques to address challenges in visual data processing and forensic analysis. As part of a dedicated, collaborative research team, you will push the boundaries of digital forensics by advancing AI-driven methods for identifying, verifying, and analyzing image/video authenticity.

As a postdoctoral researcher, you will primarily conduct research. Your work can also include teaching or participating in other departmental assignments, up to 20% of full-time.


Qualifications

To be qualified to take employment as postdoc, you must have been awarded a doctoral degree or have a foreign degree that is deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree. This degree must have been awarded at the latest by the point at which LiU makes its decision to employ you.

It is considered advantageous if your doctoral degree is no older than three years at application deadline for this job. If there are special reasons for having an older doctoral degree – such as taking statutory leave – then these may be taken into consideration.

You should have a strong background in mathematics and experience in digital forensic analysis, machine learning, and visual data processing, with a record of publications in respected journals or conferences.

Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to work independently and to formulate and tackle technical and scientific questions. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required.

You should have the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team/environment.

We are looking for individuals who are self-motivated, goal-oriented, and results-driven. The ability to structure and manage your own work processes, and good collaboration skills to relate to and work effectively with others are also highly valued.


The workplace

The Department of Systems Engineering (ISY) is central in various engineering educations both in terms of basic knowledge and applied courses. You will work in the division of Information Coding that conducts research as well as undergraduate and postgraduate education. The division of Information Coding carries out research and teaching in many areas of Information Processing Technologies, including Quantum Information and Computation, Optoeletronics, Physical Layer Security and Information Theory, Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics. The employment

This employment is a temporary contract of two years with the possibility of extension up to a total maximum of three years. 

Starting date is by agreement.
