At the School of Innovation, Design and Engineering our students are studying to be for example innovators, entrepreneurs, illustrators, information designers, network technicians and engineers. We have five research specializations with different research profiles and research schools. Our work takes place in cooperation with and in strategic agreements with companies, organisations and public authorities in the region.

The purpose of the position is to give the employee an early opportunity to develop his or her independence as a researcher and to create the conditions for further acquisitions of qualifications after completing the doctoral degree.The position is part of efforts to underpin the future supply of skills. The position is a temporary employment of maximum 2 years.

TrustedProduction is aiming to enable 5G and WiFi connectivity for smart production systems and investigating the trustworthiness of these communication technologies in factories. Within this goal, the postdoc will focus on developing techniques to enable communication in various components of production systems based on 5G and WiFi. The postdoc will compare different communication technologies, their trustworthy, and performance.

The postdoc will be active in teaching and education (maximum 20 %) in both bachelor and master levels in various courses relevant to the topics, including but not limited to, creating new course topics, developing new labs and projects, giving lectures, and active in course developments.

As a postdoc, you are expected to take responsibility for planning and implementing your research, take your own initiatives to develop your ideas and knowledge, and be able to collaborate with others both within and outside academia.

We are looking for a postdoc who thrives in a collaborative research environment and is passionate about teaching and mentoring. Insummary, the taskswillconsistof:

- Teaching and course responsibility at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
- Supervision of thesis projects and of PhD students.
- Research and securing external funding for projects within the research focus on the environment.
- Collaborate with industry and academic partners.
- Working in inter-disciplinary research topics and projects.

The applicant is required to have a PhD degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.

The applicant must have completed the degree no more than three years before the end of the application period. You have not previously held a position as a postdoctoral researcher in the same or related subject area at MDU that exceeds one year.

Tobeconsideredfortheposition,youmustalsohave:

- Good communication skills in English both verbal and written.
- Strong knowledge in computer networks and security topics in the computer networks.
- Strong knowledge in real-time embedded systems.
- Strong knowledge in timing analysis of real-time systems.
- Strong knowledge in programming languages such as C/C++.
- Knowledge in network device configurations and experimental analysis of techniques.
- Ability to establish and maintain contacts and networks with research partners in academia, industry, or other organisations.   

Particular emphasis is placed on the ability to write reports and scientific publications in English, both independently and in collaboration with researchers and practitioners.

Meritorious also are knowledge and experience:

- in configuration of industrial networks.
- in developing demonstrators within the field of studies
- in cooperation and collaboration with industries.
- in 5G and wireless communication, and analysis of that
