The IRIS-CC is a Private Foundation that governs, directs, and manages the Institute for Research and Innovation in Life and Health Sciences in Central Catalonia. It results from a strategic alliance between 17 academic, healthcare, and social institutions in Central Catalonia and its area of influence.

The mission of IRIS-CC is to generate scientific knowledge in life and health sciences, focused on the needs and improvement of people’s quality of life, as well as to create an innovative ecosystem that fosters territorial development and provides the products and services that society demands.

In August 2024, the Institute for Research and Innovation in Life and Health Sciences in Central Catalonia (IRIS-CC) received the 'HR Excellence in Research' recognition from the European Commission. The "Human Resources Strategy for Researchers" is based on the Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for Employers. The implementation of HRS4R represents a quality seal that certifies that a research center’s HR policy meets European standards.

In 2024, IRIS-CC received a donation from the entity OSONA CONTRA EL CÀNCER to hire a part-time coordinator specifically for the oncology area of the Consorci Hospitalari de Vic.

Job Position:

Sectorial Coordinator of Clinical Trials in the Oncology Area (Senior Technician or Specialist Category under the UVIC-UCC Agreement) for the Clinical Trials Unit of the Institute for Research and Innovation in Life and Health Sciences in Central Catalonia (IRIS-CC) at the Consorci Hospitalari de Vic (CHV). This contract is linked to funding received through sponsorship.

We are looking for an expert with a proven track record in the management and coordination of clinical trials.

Reporting Structure:

Organizational: Reports hierarchically to the IRIS-CC Directorate as the contracting entity.

Functional:

  • Head of the Clinical Trials Unit of IRIS-CC
  • CHV's Healthcare Directorate
  • CHV's Transfer Directorate
  • Head of CHV’s Oncology Department

Responsibilities:

  • Active search for pharmaceutical companies and CROs to launch new oncology clinical trials.
  • Main point of contact for sponsors and monitors of clinical studies in the oncology area.
  • Coordination of procedures and tests for patients included in clinical trials and observational studies in oncology.
  • Coordination with internal and external collaborating centers and services.
  • Coordination with the Hospital Pharmacy Service.
  • Organization of visits, monitoring, and study closure in oncology.
  • Management of biological samples.
  • Reporting of adverse effects.
  • Maintenance of the investigator’s file.
  • Mobility between centers participating in the project.
  • Other tasks related to the position.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's or higher university degree in Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology, Veterinary Medicine, Biochemistry, Biomedicine, Biotechnology, Nursing, or Health-related applied sciences (Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, and Business Management).
  • Basic skills: Good command of English (minimum C1-Advanced certification required).
  • IT skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

    A personal interview will be conducted with pre-selected candidates by the Selection and Evaluation Committee based on competencies.

    • Work schedule: 20 hours per week.
    • Workplace: IRIS-CC Clinical Research Unit (Carretera de Roda, 70, Vic), located at CHV (Carrer Francesc Pla el Vigatà, 1, Vic).

    • Collective agreement: FUBalmes.
