Quantum Nano-Optoelectronics Research Group: Project Research Engineer position in Cryogenic Optical Quantum Tunneling Microscope Development

Updated: about 17 hours ago
Deadline: ;

ICFO is offering a project research engineer position to a well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientist who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment.

The successful candidate will be joining the Quantum Nano-Optoelectronics group led by Prof. Dr. Frank Koppens. The groups is at the forefront of researching the fundamental science and potential applications of two-dimensional (2D) materials, focusing particularly on their interactions with light at extreme limits and at the nanoscale. The group integrates the realms of nanophotonics, 2D materials, topology, emerging phenomena, and strong light-matter interactions, creating a multidisciplinary approach in their research.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the measurements of the Optical Quantum Tunneling Microscope and the initial exploration of twist-angle-resolved optoelectronic properties for a wide range of optical wavelengths
Key tasks include optoelectronic measurements, data analysis, modelling and reporting of results. Additional tasks may be assigned as deemed appropriate by the project supervisor.
