Offer Description

We are looking for a quality technician for the Area of Organization, Processes and Quality of the UOC and will work closely with the coordinator of the alliance, the Commissioner of International Action of the UOC, the coordination team of OpenEU at the UOC. The mission of the position will be to coordinate, plan and execute the different actions for the quality assurance of the degrees derived from the OpenEU work plan at the University for the first 2 years of the project.

OpenEU, the alliance of European universities, brings together eight leading European open and distance universities and two face-to-face universities committed to digital transformation, with the mission to establish the learner-centered, inclusive, digital and green European open university, extending access in higher education and lifelong learning to everyone, everywhere.

With the support of the European Commission, in the framework of the European Universities Program of the Erasmus+ program, OpenEU will implement a 4-year project to establish the pillars of the first open university at European level.

The selected person will join the UOC and will be part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary team with an important international projection, since his/her role will be to support the European entities that are part of OpenEU.
 

What will be your functions?

• Coordinate the collaborative work with the quality referents of the OpenEU universities to promote agreements that lead to:
  • Define the OpenEU quality policy.
  • Set quality criteria for the deployment of the processes of definition and design of degrees within the OpenEU framework.
  • Design and deploy the processes of monitoring and continuous improvement of the degrees in the Open EU framework, ensuring the alignment of the evaluation criteria and quality indicators of the participating universities and in accordance with the Standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).
  • Advise the management teams and faculty of the UOC in matters of university quality assurance in Europe.
  • Advise the management teams in the definition of the specific processes of the alliance for its integration into the university's SGQ.
  • Process the verification, modification and accreditation processes of the UOC's international joint degrees within the OpenEU framework.

 

A temporary employment contract of 24 months linked to a project will be made, full time and with immediate incorporation.

The physical headquarters will be the UOC Campus, located at Rambla del Poblenou, 156, in Barcelona. However, at the UOC we work with an open work model that combines teleworking with face-to-face work, according to organizational needs and the nature of the tasks. However, for legal reasons, it is essential to reside in Spain and be in possession of a valid work permit at the time of hiring.

What type of profile are we looking for?

• University degree. Master's Degree in Quality Assessment and Management in Higher Education is valued.
• Minimum experience of 2 years in a technical unit of university quality.
• Knowledge of the EEES, the ESG and European trends in the field of quality in higher education.
• Proficiency in office tools at an advanced level.
• Ability to communicate and express yourself orally and in writing in English (C1).
• High level of change management skills, with a global and transversal vision, and a focus on achieving objectives.  
• Ability for personal relationships and for verbal and written communication in transnational environments.
