Offer Description
OpenEU, the alliance for the first ever pan-European open university, brings together eight leading European open and distance universities and two on-campus universities engaged in digital transformation to become the European Universities Initiative’s main asset for accessing, using, and exploring digital education knowledge and knowhow in the EHEA.
Harnessing the powers of digital technologies and representing over 368,000 non-traditional students and lifelong learners, OpenEU is propelled by its mission to establish the learner-centred, inclusive, digital and green European open university, widening access to higher education and lifelong learning to all, from anywhere.
With the support of the European Commission, under the Erasmus+ European Universities Programme, OpenEU will implement a 4 year-project to establish the pillars of the first Open University at a European scale.
The UOC, as coordinator of the OpenEU Alliance, is responsible for the management and monitoring of the project, and it is looking for a Communication and Engagement Officer to join the OpenEU Secretariat, an institutionalised cooperation instrument created by the OpenEU consortium based at UOC for the 4 years of the project.
We are seeking to recruit an OpenEU Communication and Engagement Officer that will be under the direct supervision of the Open EU Secretary General and work in strong relation with the alliance coordinator, the Commissioner for International Action at UOC, and all the partners of the OpenEU Alliance. The selected person will be responsible for the coordination of the OpenEU Communication and Engagement Office and will collaborate with all work packages to establish the mechanisms and channels to disseminate the activities, findings, results and opportunities of the Alliance. Additionally, the selected person will ensure the alignment of the partners in the communication and engagement initiatives, coordinating the activities of a decentralized office that will include representatives from all the beneficiary entities.
The selected candidate will join the UOC and become part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team with significant international exposure, as her/his role will involve providing support to the European entities that are part of OpenEU.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate OpenEU's Office of Communication and Engagement to enhance strategies for strengthening community engagement at the local and Alliance levels.
- Coordinate the definition, execution and monitoring of the Community Engagement Plan, in collaboration with the OpenEU partners.
- Coordinate the definition, execution and monitoring of the Communication and Dissemination Plan, in collaboration with the OpenEU partners.
- Design and implement specific 360º communication campaigns, agreeing with all partners on the specifics, calendar, formats, channels and other derivatives, and execute and monitor them.
- Design and produce audiovisual and multimedia materials: videos, podcasts, interactive, etc., following the alliance's brand guidelines, in collaboration with the OpenEu partners.
- Manage the alliance's social media profiles and other communications platforms and channels.
- Write and publish press releases, copy for social media and define and write other content for the alliance in the appropriate formats, in collaboration with the rest of the organization's communications teams.
- Mobilize the participation of the OpenEU community in the alliance through its different activities and formats (online and offline).
- Support OpenEU Communities of Practice.
- Support in the conceptualization, implementation and dynamization of community participation tools, such as Decidim or the Folio space.
- Coordinate the organization and logistics of face-to-face and virtual workshops and events.
- Managing the budget of their assigned projects, ensuring financial resources are allocated efficiently, and providing regular reports on budget performance and variances.
- Search, identify, analyze, and report on additional funding sources and calls for proposals aligned with the strategic directions identified in the project, contributing to the sustainability of the alliance.
It will be a full-time temporary employment contract linked to a project, until November 30, 2028 and with immediate incorporation expected.
You will work in a dynamic and flexible environment where you will be able to develop professionally by working towards objectives. The physical location will be 22@, located at Rambla del Poblenou, 156, in Barcelona, and you will have the possibility of teleworking, depending on organizational needs and the nature of the tasks. However, for legal reasons, it is essential to reside in Spain and to be in possession of a valid work permit.
